That speech was out of control good. The fact that a politician is quoting the golden rule and encouraging both sides to be compassionate; to stand by a friend instead of selling him out... dang.
Thank you for posting a link to the speech. I read that speech, then re-read it, and then forwarded it on to everyone I know. Not only was this written beautifully, but it made me almost cry. I too am voting for the writer because let's face it, we need someone like him running our country. Someone who will open dialogue between different groups of society to help us all move forward to a positive tomorrow. Isn't that what we should be looking for in a President?

Is the title of this post a David Paterson joke? Because I'll have you know that something something didn't bother to think this through before typing
Read the speech here
It was an excellent speech.
awesome speech - i had tears in my eyes after reading it because finally someone has a clue and please please please let him be the next president.
but - still no love for the atheists (and obama's mother was one!). oh well, i'm used to it. no one ever says the "a" word around election time.
but even hillary loved approved of the speech and she didn't even read or hear it! what a sport!!
which would explain why he quoted Faulkner.
WILLIAM FRIGGIN' FAULKNER.
I have a dream where the President of our country has actually read Faulkner.
And Borges.
Doesn't he know the writers strike is over?
Does that make you a "writist"? or maybe a "writerist"?

To Prof Rock:
Are you sure it doesn't make him a member of the Write Wing?
Congratulations on your future appropriation of The Daily Show.
