IN OTHER NEWS: TOUGH

IN OTHER NEWS, I always knew that my friend and my editor Paul Tough was a very smart person and a very fine writer about aliens and humans

(AND not a bad singer, as you will recall if you attended the LITTLE GRAY BOOK LECTURE on the subject of "What Will Happen in the Future").

BUT I AM ASTONISHED by how astute and readable his political blogging is.

ESPECIALLY compared to mine.

WHY DON'T YOU SUBSCRIBE TO HIS WEBSITE RIGHT NOW?

There is no reasonable answer.

That is all.

Hodgman: As you have unequivocally declared that there is no reasonable answer to why I am not subscribing to your editor's blog, I therefore will give an unreasonable answer:

It relates to the name "Tough." Some people--namely me--find being anywhere within a thousand miles of someone with such a name to be intimidating at best and downright dangerous at worst.

Does Mr. Tough live up to his name? Should I dare to express disagreement with any of his opinions, will I be subject to threats, intimidation, computer hacking or--considering his discussion of Barack Obama's comments on Pakistan--CIA rockets through my living room window?(My wife has threatened to me leave me after the last incident). Will I be accused of spinelessness and lack of character and challenged to one-one sword duels on the plains of Kansas?

Inquiring, perspiring minds want to know!

Most editors are well-versed when it comes to politics. The connection isn't clear. They are just that way.

i've been reading this blog for a while now, after you started quoting from it a while ago. Thank you. paul tough is a rockstar, though i, too, would rather not be cornered in a dark alley by him.
