YES: I READ ANDREW SULLIVAN

AND I AGREE with him.

That is all.

Ah yes, I have been a big fan of the degarfing concept for some time now. You might also wish to check out Lasagana Cat. The formula is as follows: actors dress up as Garfield characters and reenact one of the classic comic strips, ending in laugh track, followed by a music video tribute to Jim Davis. They haven't updated in awhile now, but there are still plenty of gems to be perused.

It seems a bit contrived to remove Garfield from the comic altogether.. the results are certainly funny, but it's a bit more eerie when folks just remove Garfield's thought bubbles, which is presumably how the scene actually looks to outside observers...

The guy who writes Sally Forth tries it on his own comic:

The first place anyone should look for commentary on terrible comics is the Comics Curmudgeon, which, as it happens, also linked to Garfield Minus Garfield just yesterday.

The following link is not related to this here post. It deals with Hobo matters:

What did they do with Garfield? Why did they take him away? Did they put him down? If so, I would like to offer my own cat, Pinchas, as a replacement. He doesn't eat lasagna, but he does leave mouse remains all over our bedspread. He also thinks really funny stuff like "Hey! Feed me, asshole!" I'm sure a lot of folks would laugh at antics of Pinchas over their morning coffee!

Unrelated to Garfield, but very much falling within the purview of this blog:

Those sans Garfield strips made me actually laugh out loud. Out loud!

The notion that you and Andrew Sullivan had an agreement about something gave me a hair(y back) ball.

To avoid infringement of art copyright and arrive in a more confirmed parody state for less legal trouble, there was created Arbuckle, to which anyone can contribute.
