FREEZING FOG

WHEN I OBSERVED THIS OMINOUS PREDICTION in London's weather report this morning, and then it quickly disappeared, I presumed it was an error.

BUT IT IS SO.

MY SYMPATHIES for those grounded by FREEZING FOG in Britain's airports.

BUT THE UPSIDE IS it seems to be transforming the country into a series of illustrations for the covers of paperback fantasy novels.

That is all.

Of course I had to Google this freezing fog and revel in its chilling mysteries. And the first result revealed something even more horrifying:

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ICE FOG AND FREEZING FOG?

This just keeps getting worse.

Aha! You're back on This American Life, from the "Rerun" episode two weeks ago! Please continue to illuminate us with your onion-and-penguin anecdotes.

Of course, I remember this story from a book-signing. But I don't remember the onion.

Mr. Hodgman, you don't have any plans of coming up here to Canada, do you? It's frightfully cold. We got eighteen yards of snow today!

Just listened to last week's TAL transmission from your flaming sound booth. I enjoyed it very much! Happy holidays. Thanks for making me laugh considerably more in 2006.

By an astonishing coincidence, I too was led here in the course of a desperate search for high-interest loans so that I could purchase diet pills. I do not know what sorcery Hodgman has worked on Google to produce these results, but I will subscribe to his feed in hopes that this service will soon be added to the site.

thank goodness you wrote this book... my friend and i had been planning for years to write a book of legends and myths and facts that were entirely or partially untrue... your book turned out much better than our could have; maybe in a different world...
