This blog sounds like it's written by a precocious twelve-year old. Surely you don't write it yourself?
(What does it say about literature today that an individual who's never had a serious idea in his head in his life is awarded and lauded as one of our chief writers? Crazy, isn't it? You must laugh all the way to the bank.)
Clever 12 year olds...
Hodgman is a humorist, an absurdist, not a philosopher or political commentator. He got Bruce Campbell's autobio published, if that gives you a sense of his bent. You expect too much of him, dear.
Besides, even Twain said pedestrian things in his day -you can't be profound all the time.
