I RECUSE MYSELF

I AM NOT ONE TO POST a lot of photos of myself.

BUT WHEN PEOPLE WORK SO HARD to make me look so judge-like, I have to acknowledge their hard work...

HERE ARE MORE interpretations of my painfully-occasional role as "Judge John Hodgman" for the wonderfully-weekly podcast "JORDAN, JESSE, GO!"*

LOOK, LISTEN, and you be the judge.

I TRUST YOUR SENTENCE WILL BE: "awesome."

That is all.

*Notice I added the Oxford Comma.

You look quite dashing in those robes.

You do look dashing.
Your feet are light and nimble. You never sleep. You say that he will never die. You dance in light and in shadow and you are a great favorite. You never sleep, the judge. You are dancing, dancing. You say that you will never die.

I believe that you are referring to a Harvard Comma. This construct is referred to as an Oxford Comma in the United Kingdom only.

Should these infractions continue, I would be forced to unsubscribe myself from your RSS feed, lest an information thief discover and propagate facts about my scandalous readerships.

at PATRICK: I do not have feet. That is why I wear the robe. Instead, I have prosthetic bicycle wheels.

at JIM: it also referred to as an Oxford Comma in New Haven, CT. Another name for it is "cleveland steamer."

That is all.

That's mine! My entire life has led up to this moment of validation... and it is sweeter than I could've ever imagined.

I told David to fix the glasses, so I demand at least 1/5th credit for the picture.

Can one properly dash with wheels for feet?

I am looking forward to this podcast that promises to be at least one third about Go.

I'm wondering about a different picture--the one of your animated self in the Mac holiday ad. Why did they make you look like an obese person such as myself? You don't appear to be so large in real life.

@kima: The camera adds ten pounds, and Rankin-Bass adds another fifteen. Even Fred Astaire's S.D. Kluger looked a tiny bit pudgy, and Astaire weighted 83 pounds (source: books).

Also: what Justin Long really wants is to be a dentist.

Much as I hate to contradict everyone, that was neither an Oxford nor a Harvard comma. Said commas are involved in lists of three or more entities. What you have here is a direct address. I'm afraid the comma was mandatory.

sooo... it should also be "judge, john, hodgman"?

Or am I drunk on chicken apple sausage?

I really liked the one with all the judges. "Lady Hodgman" as the swing vote is a riot! I can rather imagine a "Being John Hodgman" sort of world.

Clearly, I should go back to work now.

Jim, I have to say that I am with Hodg-Man. I've heard it referred to as such even out here in sunny California, where we never get almost nothing right.

However, in the words of Vampire Weekend, "Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?"
