AND HERE IS THE REFERENT

Ha, that's great.

It was a little surreal seeing the explanation befere the referent. Since I listened to the Complete World Knowledge yesterday, it was a day of odd confluence -- particularly walking around the city on 9/11 hearing you talk about how New York tourism has changed. And how most everything, even the parts I couldn't have read or heard, sounded eerily familiar. I couldn't help thinking that, in lieu of any other explanation, you were bringing up G. Plimpton because I'd heard you mention him yesterday. There were several other little things. And the less said about that Ar visit, the better.

Excuse me, I'm going to slip back into solipist haze now.

I think my co-workers are starting to look at me weird. I burst out laughing when I saw the referent. Great homage John. Really. I think George Plimpton would have gotten a good chuckle out of the ad.

That ad is the reason I bought your book, Mr. Hodgman. I don't know who you are but I look forward to reading your work.
