Ape-lad tells me this is the logo for the star wars fan club. But why the H?
That is all.

Because the name of the fan club is 'Hyperspace'.
"Hyperspace" could be a crafty obfuscation as "H" also is the first letter in the word... 'hobo' ...
hmm...
Mr. Hodgman,
I am currently in the process of reading your book and all I have to say is...curse you for beating me to the idea of a fake almanac.
Now my unborn children will never know the lap of luxery I planned to provide them with thanks to the sales of my now-never-to-be-written book on many of the same topics, and my imaginary girlfriend/wife isn't even speaking to me anymore (we communicated via sign language, though, so perhaps that's not a turn for the worse).
Anyway, I'm an aspiring humorist (read: working a dead-end job while hoping that the degree I'm going to get in English will lead somewhere when I get out of Clemson University) and I'm glad that you have this public forum so that readers and aspiring writers like myself can come here...and feel like crap because you beat us to it.
good evening,
Trevor Seigler
Hypothetical hyperspace hoboes holding heavy hammers have hit hero Han's head and hewn holes in Hoth.
It's obvious.
I'm sorry, but Ape Lad is lying to you (perhaps in revenge?). The "imperial cog" is definitely there in the background, but the fan club's actual seal is found on the webpage of the 501st (the name of said fan club): http://www.501st.com/index.php
There's a cog in the background of this, the real logo, but you will notice the key difference is the lack of a mysterious "H". Perhaps apelad is trying to pawn off the seal of a branch of the 501st as the main one? Each one has its own seal.
I, too, am wasting precious hours of my life reading your book and I, too, will one day wreck my revenge. In the meantime, I am enjoying hobo trivia, which is so far imperial cog free.

Unfortunately, a technical error has posted my reply twice.
Now, of course, I look like an idiot.
Modernchinesehistory, you are not an idiot. However, the 501st (Vader's Fist) is not the "Official Star Wars Fan Club". Hyperspace is.
