28.7%

I CONFESS I am a little worried.

IF YOU VISIT OUR "Scrabble for Cheaters" page, you will see that John Oliver and I have reached only 28.7% of our fund raising goal of $5ooo.

WHICH IS TO SAY, right now we only have $1,435.00 worth of cheats.

WHICH IS TO SAY, it is likely that when we meet on Sat, Jan 19, to play Scrabble for the benefit 826NYC, we will be forced to play a game that 71.3% HONEST.

Which is to say: WE DON'T HAVE A CHANCE.

PLEASE DON'T MAKE US TAKE THE RISK OF WINNING FAIR AND SQUARE and donate now, if you can.

That is all

THERE WILL BE NO NUDITY AT THE 826 EVENT.

In fact, I am thinking about wearing gloves and a mask.

if you wear a mask, we will all have to update our tattoos..

If there is no nudity at this event, then I am not going (never mind that I live 3,000 miles away.) If Hodgman and Oliver were to play in the nude, I am sure the place would be packed (likely with policemen; they always show up at nude events; they say to "arrest people for nudity", but we know better, of course).

I will, however, donate money as soon as Certain Ships dock. (PS: If we donate money, will you send nude photos of you and Oliver at the Scrabble board? They would look lovely on our refrigerator!

i think that picture just got me fired. i told my boss it was for charity, but she didn't believe me.

I am a little confused. Not about the nudity. But about which page we are supposed to donate at.

I made a donation to this page: http://www.gifttool.com/athon/MyFundraisingPage?ID=1349&AID=174&PID=14099

But it seems that it is not you. Or maybe it is? What gives? Are you being hacked?

So you're saying you'd never play Strip-Scrabble, even for a charitable cause??

Obviously the couple in the photo does. Granted if they're naked already they're obviously both very good players. ....or very bad.

I lived on a part of the UCSD campus where you could see Black's Beach. Fortunately we were far enough away that we couldn't make out people, only glorious sunsets and fantastic bingos, like QUIVERS.

La Jolla is a fantastic place.

I put in $10 for Oliver. I figure that a foreigner might need a few more cheats than a native speaker.

As a regular 826 volunteer who teaches a workshop in Nonsense, this is right up my alley. Now, if you and Oliver were to come to Ann Arbor to do a nude cheaty Scrabble game (or not nude, your choice), we'd all be thrilled and do a donation drive to beat the band. Meanwhile, I'll throw a few bucks to the 826NYC gang on your behalf.

My only hesitation in donating was the idle thought of trying to get my own team together, for truly, what's more fun than a room full of Scrabble cheats?

Alas, a dream not to come. So I tossed some money your way. Now kick some limey arse! ;-)

(826NYC should have set this up in some sort of building with a viewing gallery, and then sold tickets.)

Hodgman:

Ship has docked; donation has been made in name of Self and Wife, who has hots for Oliver: "Those glasses! Those teeth! Those nose!"

When will the nude photos arrive? (Wife especially anxious)Am thinking of sponsoring Nude Scrabble Tournament at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Nude photo would definitely help spread publicity, especially among police persons!

All of us (and by "all of us" I mean "all of me") are wondering how did team Hodgmoliver do in the tournament? I kicked in as much as I could to help you in this most ancient and treacherous of blood sports. Was it enough to carry you to both the glory and ignominy of "The Cheater's Cup"
