THIS BOILS IT DOWN FOR ME.

THIS ISSUE OF HONESTY AND INTEGRITY that is so compelling that it has literally chased every last laff off this page, alas.

That is all.

I wish I could find this surprising. It's simply unfortunate that Clinton happens to be the first viable woman candidate for president — or rather that the first viable woman presidential candidate happens to be a Clinton.

At this point I, too, have little room left for laffs, what with all the scheming and mendacity.

{sigh}

What he said.

She's a politician first, woman second. I'll forward this. Thanks for putting it up.

Yeah, but you didn't really expect the first female president to get there by being all sweetness and light. I would think that back stabbing probably has to be in your repertoire in order to survive.

i live (unfortunately) in new hampshire. one thing that i think people need to realize about this state, one of the whitest in the nation, is that no matter how liberal most a lot of people say they are, they'd never vote for a black man no matter what his stance on choice. we had a female governor for a long time, now have a woman in congress, and so folks are comfortable with having a (white) woman in power. there's maybe 10 african-americans in the whole state, so we (and by we i mean them, i grew up in jersey) have fear of a black planet. he never stood a chance here, especially after the hostage situation at hillary's campaign office in rochester (i think that helped secure the nut vote for her - that is all the nuts not voting for ron paul). blargh.

Well as a white woman I know that if Hillary drops out of the race I have to automatically switch my vote to Edwards since he's white and I only vote my own kind because since I am a woman I'm not very smart.

I think I have to go cook a meal without my shoes on now.

WTF?

thanks so much for providing all this info, hodg-man. i had no idea before you started publicizing it, and i hopped over to Paul Tough's blog and followed the links posted over there. its so sad that campaigning has sunk to so low a point so early on.

The very statement "Barack Obama is 100% honest" is dishonest. If you, like I, subscribe to Factcheck.org's email list, you know that they're *all* lying. Really, what do you expect in a presidential election?

There are two irrational preconceptions going around this election that irk me: one is that Hillary Clinton is an artificial bitch and the other is that Barack Obama is a can-do-no-wrong Boy Scout. Neither is true.

"so clever and beautiful" wrote, "you didn't really expect the first female president to get there by being all sweetness and light." There is truth in that statement, but it is more accurate and less sexist if you remove "first female."

You're right, my statement could be seen as sexist.
What I was trying to say is that a woman has to work far harder to gain status. It makes sense to me that it would require more ruthlessness then that of the male counterpart.

We do view Hilary Clinton differently from other candidates because she is a woman. I think a lot of criticism of her stems from that fact that running for president is not considered a feminine thing to do. This is where we get people saying "oh but shes just so mean" and she is viewed as being pushy and bitchy.

It's a strange situation, mostly because we've never been in it before. It's hard to say if a female candidate is automatically viewed as more ruthless because she is a women even though her actions are no different then a male candidate. I've had business problems like that myself.

I don't know why I am writing all this, I am registered in Maine.

Well said, so clever.

I'm not saying some types of dishonesty are more acceptable than others but I'm honestly not aware of any instances in which Obama has deliberately misrepresented Hillary Clinton's positions on issues.

Would anyone care to illuminate or point me somewhere? I did a little searching but my time was cut short, life being what it is.

I already suggested you check Factcheck.org. It's all laid out there very clearly. Type "Obama" into the search box and you'll see plenty of misleading things from him and/or his campaign, as well as from Hillary and the Republicans.
